Colonias Chiropractic Center specializes in pain management and optimal body functioning. We assess full joint motion and identify joint restrictions that can cause pain, but we also specialize in recognizing and treating myofascial pain. Myofascaial pain refers to units of muscles and fascia, (or the casing over and between the muscle fibers). Myofascial pain is caused by trigger points. Myofascial trigger points can cause local and referred pain. For any pain location, there are trigger points in a number of muscles that can refer pain into that location. Some are near the location of the pain and some are more distant. We evaluate the muscles that can harbor trigger points contributing to the pain and we treat any trigger points that seem to directly refer pain. We also seek to normalize muscle tone in the other possible contributors, even if the abnormal tone in these muscles cannot be demonstrated as directly causing the patient’s pain. In addition, we help to reorganize and balance the body and improve posture by releasing joint and muscle restriction and restoring normal function to reduce the strain on the injured area.
Outside of office hours, we are often able to respond to emergencies among our existing patients during the weekends. Existing patients can call and leave a voice mail.
